  1. Date and Time Change for the 902 MHz, 1296 MHz 
  2. and 2304 MHz Spring Sprints

  5. Activity in the Spring Sprints has been slumping over the last 
  6. few years, especially on the microwave bands. In the hopes of 
  7. boosting activity in the 902 MHz, 1296 MHz, and 2304 MHz Spring 
  8. Sprints, we have rescheduled the times and dates. The three 
  9. Sprints (902 MHz, 1296 MHz and 2304  MHz) are scheduled to run 
  10. simultaneously on a single Saturday (May 1, 1993). You may work 
  11. any five consecutive hours from 6 AM until 1 PM local time. The  
  12. individual Sprints will remain separate for scoring, but will 
  13. take place at the same time. The other Spring Sprints (50 MHz, 
  14. 144 MHz, 222 MHz, and 432 MHz) will remain on their respective 
  15. activity nights.

  17. This change will give members the opportunity to make more 
  18. contacts during the Sprints and at the same time promote 
  19. activity. It will not discriminate against an entrant who has 
  20. equipment for only one of the bands. He can still compete on an 
  21. equal basis with his peers. For the members who wish to enter all 
  22. three Sprints, it will give them the opportunity to pass contacts 
  23. from one band to another. Having three Sprints at once, rather 
  24. than just one, will be more of an incentive for people to go 
  25. mountaintopping or go to rare grid squares. This should make the 
  26. Sprints more fun, and give people more to do on the microwave 
  27. bands during the contest.
